The Jaffar Express traveling from Peshawar to Quetta was halted at Sibi Railway Station due to security concerns and darkness, railway authorities said.
According to officials, the train reached Sibi six hours behind schedule. However, it was not allowed to proceed to Quetta after security clearance could not be obtained.
Authorities said passengers have been refunded their fares for the Sibi-to-Quetta journey.
Meanwhile, passengers scheduled to travel to Peshawar on Thursday will be transported to Sibi in additional coaches. From Sibi, they will continue their journey to Peshawar by train.
