NISSHIN, Japan — Persistent rain washed out Pakistan’s Asian Games 2026 men’s cricket quarterfinal against Hong Kong on Monday, sending Pakistan into the semifinals without a ball being bowled.
The match at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin was abandoned before the toss as continued rainfall left conditions unsuitable for play.
Pakistan advanced under the tournament’s ranking provision, with its higher ICC T20I ranking securing a semifinal berth after the washout.
The semifinal is scheduled for October 1, with the bronze-medal match and final to follow on October 3.
