PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa spokesperson Shaukat Yousafzai accused the government of deliberately creating a deadlock in negotiations, warning that it would bear responsibility if the situation deteriorated.
Yousafzai said the government should have shown flexibility to help steer the country out of its mounting political and economic difficulties. Instead, he said, its approach had undermined hopes for a negotiated resolution.
He also criticized the government’s strategy for addressing terrorism and economic distress, arguing that the country lacked a coherent plan to tackle the challenges. “A country cannot be governed through stubbornness and ego,” he said, urging the ruling leadership to reconsider its approach.
Warning against the imposition of emergency rule or governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Yousafzai said such measures could further aggravate the province’s already fragile situation.
He added that the country remained burdened by debt while ordinary citizens struggled with mounting difficulties, accusing the government of failing to adequately address public concerns.
