TEHRAN, Iran — Iran’s military has said it plans to extend the range of its missiles, arguing that the move became necessary following lessons learned during its recent conflict.

An Iranian military spokesman said Tehran concluded during the war that expanding the range of its missile arsenal was unavoidable.

He said Iranian missile strikes had forced U.S. forces to move more than 1,000 kilometers away from the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s borders, describing the development as evidence of the effectiveness of Iran’s attacks.
