Former US Vice President Kamala Harris acknowledged that Washington had fallen short of its moral obligations to uphold human rights and international law, citing Israel’s military campaign in Gaza as a recent example.
Speaking at an event in South Korea, Ms. Harris also criticised the Trump administration for giving Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a free hand in Gaza.
She said her administration, under former President Joe Biden, should have taken swifter and more effective action in response to Israeli military operations in the Palestinian territory. Ms. Harris added that the current Trump administration had also failed to take adequate steps.
