The United States has issued a security alert for its citizens across the Middle East, warning of potential attacks by Iran and Yemen’s Houthi militia against American nationals and US interests.
According to Arab media reports, US embassies in 12 countries, including Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon and Syria, issued the alerts amid heightened regional tensions.
The warnings said Iran and groups backed by Tehran could target American citizens and US interests in the region.
US citizens were advised to monitor developments involving flight cancellations and airspace closures and to avoid travelling to areas experiencing heightened tensions, the alerts said.
