Rana Sanaullah Says Islamabad Will Block PTI Long March, Cites Security Dispute

Must read

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s adviser Rana Sanaullah said authorities would prevent the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s planned long march from entering Islamabad, warning that any attempt to create disorder would be dealt with under the law.

Sanaullah said no date had been set for further talks with the party, citing a lack of agreement over cooperation in the fight against terrorism. He accused the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of refusing to commit to supporting security forces in counterterrorism operations, saying the impasse had prevented an agreement.

He described issues surrounding meetings with jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his medical treatment as secondary, arguing that cooperation against terrorism should take priority.

Sanaullah said negotiations could resume if the PTI and the provincial government were willing to play a role in combating terrorism.
