Noorain Niazi, the sister of jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, was transferred from Kot Lakhpat Jail to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology after experiencing heart-related discomfort, her lawyer said.
Lawyer Rana Mudassar Umar said Niazi was taken to the hospital for an initial medical assessment, with preliminary tests underway.
Niazi had been detained at Kot Lakhpat Jail, according to the report.
Umar said prison authorities initially informed him that Khan’s other sister, Aleema Khan, had been transferred to a hospital. Officials later corrected the information, clarifying that it was Noorain Niazi, not Aleema Khan, who had been taken for medical treatment.
