Security forces killed 17 militants in two intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Kachhi and Kharan districts on November 1, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
In the first operation, conducted in the Sanni area of Kachhi district, militants attempted to block a road and erect barricades. Security forces foiled the attempt and killed 10 militants allegedly operating under Indian patronage. A large cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered.
In a separate operation in Kharan district, security forces identified and destroyed a militant hideout. Seven militants belonging to the Indian-backed Fitna al-Khawarij were killed in an intense exchange of fire. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site.
During the firefight, Pakistan Army soldier Hikmatullah, 25, embraced martyrdom. He was a resident of Karak district.
According to the ISPR, clearance operations are ongoing to eliminate the threat of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
