Chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik briefed the Prime Minister on the preparatory measures taken to tackle heavy rains and potential flood situations during the current monsoon season. The Prime Minister directed that all available resources be utilized to provide every possible assistance and relief to the public in rain-affected areas. He instructed that coordination with relevant departments be enhanced to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on connecting roads and bridges and to facilitate the delivery of relief supplies during the rains. The Prime Minister also directed the NDMA to maintain effective coordination with relevant provincial agencies and PDMAs.
