Electricity consumers may face an additional burden of Rs23.33 billion after a request was filed with the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) seeking a quarterly tariff adjustment for July-September 2026.
The authority will determine the proposed increase in electricity prices per unit after reviewing the application.
The request proposes the recovery of Rs38.92 billion in capacity charges, while seeking an additional Rs5.597 billion under operations and maintenance expenses.
On the other hand, a reduction of Rs29.25 billion has been sought under the incremental package adjustment.
The quarterly adjustment for July-September 2026 will also apply to K-Electric consumers.
NEPRA will hold a hearing on the application on November 17.
