Pakistani security forces have foiled an infiltration attempt by militants in the Shaluzan sector along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Kurram, security sources said.
According to the sources, Afghan Taliban forces opened unprovoked fire after Pakistani security personnel moved to stop militants attempting to cross the border.
Pakistani forces responded with heavy weapons, delivering what security sources described as an immediate and effective response to the aggression.
The infiltration attempt was successfully thwarted, while Afghan Taliban positions reportedly suffered heavy damage in the retaliatory action, the sources added.
