PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Fazal Elahi has said he would be prepared, if necessary, to appeal to the country’s “powerful circles” for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan.
Speaking on the television programme Nadeem Malik Live, Elahi said that everything possible should be done to restore democracy in the country.
His remarks came amid PTI’s continued political campaign for Khan’s release and its broader demands concerning the restoration of what the party describes as democratic rights.
The comments reflect the PTI’s stated willingness to pursue multiple avenues in support of its political demands, including appeals to influential state actors.
